First thing – you need to have a refrigerator
Notes:
-
Types of Refrigerators:
This post will view the varying components of kitchen appliances. There are tons of items and brands to select from – but let’s start with the major appliances.
- Our first look is at the refrigerator – many new models equipped with upper, wide open refrigerator space and lower freezer compartments. Automatic water and ice dispenser are a bonus – something you want to consider during those hot summer days.
- The style and size depends on the design of your kitchen. There are pros and cons of each style. Read the reviews and test each style before you make a decision to buy.
- Let’s review the types and styles of refrigerators:

Smart Fridge:
Why look at a smart refrigerator? Because smart refrigerators lets you setup and display calendar items, display family notes and tasks, send appointments to family member’s smart phones, look up recipes, watch TV, play music and more. Everything you can get as if you had a smart monitor on your refrigerator door.
- The greatest value of smart refrigerators is managing food items inside the appliance. An advanced smart refrigerator will itemized items inside the unit, the expiration date, and when supplies are getting low. It can also list a shopping list of items removed from the refrigerator and send that list to your favorite store that accepts online orders.
- The amount of smart capabilities depends on how much you want to budget for the refrigerator. If you looking to have a household command center stationed in the kitchen, then considering a smart refrigerator that can function as a command unit may be worth the investment.

Gas powered cooktop
Notes:
-
Cooktops or Ranges:
Cooktops are very popular in newly designed kitchens. The question is whether to style the kitchen with a counter cooktop alone with wall ovens or stick with a standlone oven range that slides in between the cabinet space. It depends on your kitchen size and design.
- If your kitchen is large enough to support separate components – with a counter cooktop and wall oven – then this is the direction you want to take. If your kitchen size is smaller, then a combined cooktop with oven range is best option. Just make sure you have the right measurement to support a slide-in oven range.
- Selecting between gas or electric is up to you – pros and cons for each – and whether you have access to natural gas. Gas is preferred by professionals cooks. But the electric has a nice, smooth black cooktop that looks nice with modern and styled kitchens.
-
Adding a Pot Filler:
If you opt for the counter cooktop, then you should install plumbing for a pot filler faucet next to the cooktop. The pot filler is a nice feature for filling up cooking pots with water without have to fill and drag the pot from the kitchen sink.
- Just make sure the dispenser handle is long and flexible enough to reach any cooktop area where you need to fill up.
-
What to do if your kitchen is small:
-
Making Space:
Is there anything worse than feeling cramped inside of a tiny space? Especially if that small space is the one you frequently use, such as a kitchen. Unfortunately, there probably isn’t much you can do about its actual size.
- Still, that doesn’t mean there is absolutely nothing to be done! If you are looking to remodel your small kitchen, you can most definitely do it in a way that will make it appear larger.

Kitchen island give you additional space
Notes:
-
Why Kitchen Islands:
If space permits, you might want to make room for an island with a cooktop and range hood. The island can function as a cooktop area (with overhead hood), food preparation area, and/or sit-up counter for eating.
- Just make sure the island is not position between other work areas of the kitchen – like in between the refrigerator and cooking area. You will find yourself constantly going around the island to access the refrigerator or cooktop.
-
Island Appliances:
And now for the appliances. Convert the island into a food preparation with a cooktop and overhead range hood. With additional counter space behind, you can easily pivot and prepare your meals with ease. And the range hood captures any heat, grease or smoke and vents it out – plus the hood adds the needed lighting for the cooking area.
- Another addition if space permits is a small sink w/ faucet for washing food items and hands. Also convert the far side of the island into a counter sit-up for quick morning meals and conversation. Simply add a couple of sit-up stools.
-
Speaking of kitchen design:
-
What’s Needed:
One area that many homeowners look to remodel first is their kitchen, perhaps the room that sees the highest amount of traffic on a daily basis. It’s also one room that many visitors see when they come by; so giving the kitchen a new, fresh look can really help liven up the whole downstairs area.
- And a remodeled kitchen helps to increase the property value. So the benefit of remodeling the kitchen can be twofold – a more attractive, functional room as well as being a solid investment in the home itself.

Wall oven ranges
Notes:
-
Why Wall Ovens:
Why are wall ovens better for kitchen management? For one, they are positioned at a higher level. You can view and manage what’s baking at eye level without bending down as needed with oven ranges. Second, you can have multiple ovens – either side-by-side or stacked – for maximum efficiency. Of course, if you choose wall ovens, you will then need a separate cooktop on the counter or island.
-
Make It Multiple Ovens:
If you decide to have wall ovens, then make it two or three ovens. You can place them side-by-side or stacked one above the other. Having two or more ovens can come in handy on those days when you need to roast and bake at the same time – especially for the holidays. The three ovens can include a regular over, convection oven and microwave or small oven – or any combination for maximum use and food preparation.
-
Make sure you add a pantry:
-
Organize Your Kitchen:
The kitchen pantry may be a separate room for keeping devices, dry items, kitchen supplies and more. It can even be a few shelves at the kitchen which you use to keep food or edibles which cannot be kept in a freezer or a fridge.
- To create a kitchen pantry, you can use a wall, re-purpose a bookshelf, hang shelves, devote a cabinet, hung goods from upper cabinets, redesign a coat closet and more. Whichever way you choose, having an organized pantry helps in making it more useful and it will be easier to get items when you need them.

Kitchen monitor for those cooking guides
Notes:
-
Having Smart Devices:
A kitchen monitor is not normally thought of as a major kitchen appliance. But in newer kitchens, smart monitors are becoming part of the kitchen experience. The monitor allows the “chef” to view recipes, kitchen guides, and cooking programs – plus it can function as a shopping module for online food shopping and delivery. The smart monitor is also available for entertainment – you can stream a movie or your favorite music artist while you cook.
- We discussed above about the smart refrigerator on monitor unit. But considering the high cost of smart refrigerators, a voice activated, smart monitor might be the better option. Is also bigger in size for easy viewing – either mounted overhead or underneath the wall cabinet.
-
About Smart Kitchens:
Since you are revamping your kitchen, how about making it smart all around? You can find smart toasters, smart pot cookers, smart faucets, and other smart-like counter appliances for food processing and making.
- Additionally, plan to convert your electrical outlets and switches into smart electrical devices. You will be able to control the lighting and all plug-in devices with your home assistant or electronic device.
-
Don’t forget about kitchen safety:
-
Safety Tips:
For many homeowners, the kitchen is the heart of the home. It is where delicious meals are prepared, and a space where people gather to create memories. But, it can be dangerous if left disorganized and not kept properly.
- Kitchen safety is about food preparation, the proper use of utensils and keeping everything in it in good condition. Understanding the hazards and doing something about it will prevent accidents.
