I just want to watch TV

Notes:

  • There is much talk about having “home theater” rooms – it is a popular home remodeling trend.
  • A dedicated room with a large monitor or screen – surround audio systems – and plush theater seating.
  • But what do you have for just watching TV?
  • That is where a simple TV room setup would be nice to have – either in your living or family room area.
  • Call this my mini-home theater room It has all of the bells and whistles of a home theater room except for the entertaining ambience. But as for audio systems, large viewing area, and comfortable seating – this is the perfect setup to watch a movie or simple TV

Coming back with the TV stand

Notes:

  • The TV stand is now coming back in style.
  • It allows you to easily setup your system (without drilling and mounting).
  • Note the audio systems that tower on each end of the table – each nicely tucked within cabinet encasement for a more formal look.
  • Table or wall mount? We will take a look at some wall-mounted TV below. But another advantage of table mounted TV is furniture arrangement. Meaning, you can re-arrange your furniture anyhow you like without limiting the arrangement because of a wall mounted television.

Wall mount is still king

Notes:

  • Wall-mounted television is still popular for television viewing rooms.
  • Strategically position, it offers the best viewing range from any angle in the room.
  • The wall background – paneled boarding – is the perfect backdrop for this TV mounted view.
  • What about the wiring? If you go with wall-mounted TV, you need to hide the wiring that connects the TV to electricity and other connecting devices. You don’t want the wiring dangling down your wall. Many experts are taking the wires behind the wall. Possibly the reason for the paneled boarding – a way to tuck away all wiring and electrical cords behind the boarding.

Making of a TV-theater room

Notes:

  • Looks like a customized, built TV-theater room that duly functions as a family living area – not a bad idea in lieu of a dedicated home theater room.
  • What was customized: the enclave for the TV monitor – the two, side columns with a decorative outside view and audio speaker encasment – the tray ceiling with dimming lights.
  • You simply shut the curtains to have a comfortable room for movie viewing – and then simply convert back to a standard living area after the movie.
  • Keeping it dark! What makes a nice movie experience is a dark room. Note the curtains – a layer of dark fabric to hide the light from the outside. The colums are likewise lighted and can be dimmed or turned off. And then the ceiling light – dimmed down to give you the perfect movie-viewing enjoyment.

Again, keeping it simple

Notes:

  • This TV setup is for those who come home after a hard day and plops down to watch some TV before dinner.
  • Nothing fancy – just some simple entertainment without all the bells and whistles and dimming and …
  • Don’t forget the chair It is just as important as the viewing screen and audio system. Without a nice chair, your TV viewing may give you bad aches that will make your TV room less enjoyable over time.
