DAY 1: Jesus Christ enters into Jerusalem (Palm Sunday)
Notes:
- Today – March 25 – begins the pre-Easter week – better know as the Holy Week.
- It starts with Palm Sunday – the day the Christ Lord entered into
Jerusalem riding on an colt (NT Matt. 21) - And the advancing followers “…cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way”.
- Christians throughout the world commemorate the day by making a cross
with strands from palm leaves.

DAY 2: cleansing of the temple (Monday)
Notes:
- On the second day following Palm Sunday, Jesus Christ returns to Jerusalem
and cleanses the temple of money exchangers and barterers (NT Luke 19:45) - The only remnants of the ancient temple today are the archaeological diggings
around the Temple Mount.

DAY 3: teaching in the temple (Tuesday)
Notes:
- Jesus Christ spent both Monday and Tuesday teaching in the temple.
- One of His famous lines came from this teaching …
“Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.” - The noted Dome of the Rock now sits where historians believe is the area of the ancient temple.

DAY 4: teaching his disciples (Wednesday)
Notes:
- Jesus Christ spent Wednesday outside of Jerusalem teaching his Disciples.
- One of His most noted discourse is the impending doom of Jerusalem
and the future days before His second coming (NT Matt. 24). - The image above overlooks the hills of ancient and modern Jerusalem

DAY 5: the last supper and Christ’s suffering in the garden (Thursday)
Notes:
- During the feast of the Passover, we find the Lord Jesus Christ having his
Last Supper with his disciples (NT Mark 14). - Following the feast, Jesus Christ retires to the Garden of Gethsemane
for prayer and the atoning sacrifice. - A few of the olive trees in Gethsemane today are among oldest in world.
- Were these the remnants of the same trees at the time of Christ,
that is a pending question (see info)

DAY 6: the cruxifiction (Friday)
Notes:
- Jesus Christ was condemned and sentence to die by crucifixion – more about this form of punishment
- Today many Christians walk the Station of the Cross – the supposed trek Jesus made
from the palace of Pontius Pilate to Golgotha.

DAY 7: the burial (Saturday)
Notes:
- Jesus Christ was taken down from the cross and buried in a tomb
owned by Joseph Arimathea (Luke 23:49). - The tomb is similar to the image above – however the exact location is under debate.

DAY 8: the ressurection (Easter Sunday)
Notes:
- Easter morning – devoted women go to the tomb to finalize preparation of Christ body (NT John 20)
- But He is not there – they find later that Jesus Christ had risen from tomb as a resurrected being.
- This if the foundation of the Christian theology that cover much of the world today.
